Beautiful wedding weekend of Juhi + Vivek at the Shenandoah Country Club. We shot some of the mehendi done by Ekta Kansara on Thursday , sangeet on Friday, and the wedding day on Saturday. It was great working with Juhi and Vivek’s family and it was also a pleasure by working with some of the most professional vendors in the business. Rajul of Blissful Weddings and Events,, Aali of Q Studio, and we were able to get pristine audio by plugging into DJ Robby’s sound board (djrobby@gmail.com) .
Rick and Melissa were an awesome couple to work for! Coincidentally, their wedding date was the anniversary of their first date, their eighth grade farewell party! Their ceremony was at St Mathews Roman Catholic Church in Flint, followed by the reception at the Lafayette Grande. We shot alongside Mary from Church Street Studio. Tony and his band from 56Daze played some really cool tunes at the reception.
When Niki & Varun came to us in early August with a request for us to document their traditional Indian wedding day up in Bay Harbor, I could not have been more excited. We began our coverage with the Ganesh Puja on Tuesday morning in Troy, shot some film of the Mehndi on Tuesday evening, covered the cocktail party up in Bay Harbor Friday night, and the actual wedding day on Saturday. Although it was more like mid October weather wise with 50 degrees and rain on Saturday, we worked around it along side Photographer Scarlett Piedmonte from Traverse City. The reception dancing was amazing with two dance performances, the DJ, Naveen Sharma, kept the party going by mixing a continuous blend of various types of music. Below is a short trailer from the four days.
Kim and Freddie are both personal friends of mine and when they asked me to document their wedding day I could not have been happier. I enjoyed every minute of the 15 hour day I spent with their families and I wish them all the best in their marriage. My team for the day consisted of Ryan, Jeff, and Katie. Ryan shot the pre-ceremony starting at Freddie’s about 11am, and I started at the salon about 930am. Here is a snippet of their wedding day which took place at Orchard Lake St Mary’s with a reception at Laurel Manor in Livonia.
Assaf, Lindsey, and their families could not have been a more enjoyable group of people to work for and it was a privilege to document their wedding day celebration. My crew for the day consisted of Louis, Ryan, Jeff, and Katie. On the day of, Louis and I started at about 10am with our pre-ceremony coverage of Assaf and Lindsey. Ryan and Katie joined the team around 5 in the afternoon, just before the Ketubah signing and the ceremony. The beautiful ceremony took place at Adat Shalom Synagogue in Farmington Hills. The day was planned by Dee Dee Hoffman and her assistants (www.ddhpartydesign.com) and not a detail was overlooked. The lighting and flowers were provided by Gerychs Flowers (www.gerychsflowers.com) and they were some of the best we have seen. We really enjoyed working alongside an extremely professional crew of photographers led by David M Deutsch (http://www.davidmdeutsch.com/index.html). Of course there was the Simone Vitale Band (http://simonevitaleband.com) who had the crowd dancing late into the evening.
We accomplished the same-day edit with a lot of pre-planning and good team work. Some of the pre-ceremony coverage was edited by Louis and the bulk was taken care of during the cocktail hour. We did some shooting with a 5D Markii to achieve a narrow depth of focus on certain shots. There was a lot of advice given to us by our friend Ray Anthony, www.RayAnthonyPhoto.com, as to the types of lenses that would be most useful to us and we thank him for that. We hope you enjoy this short recap of events!
